How I Made $5,000 in 2 weeks Off of 300 People

Yes.

This is true.

I’ve been waiting to tell stories like this, but previously:

I had no experience!

But now even with a little experience, I have some stories to show.

So how did I do this?

If you’ve been reading for some time you have the context that I work with e-commerce brands to scale revenue, if you didn’t…..

Now you know.

So looking at this brand I work with I could sense that whoever was in charge of the marketing either:

A. Did not spend enough time on this account

or

B. Was not taking full advantage of the opportunities there in plain sight

It doesn’t take a genius to do this.

I noticed that the brand had not turned on SMS marketing, but was collecting phone numbers!

How crazy is that???

Now unfortunately due to all the nitty gritty laws around SMS marketing, we couldn’t use the existing numbers we collected to send to.

Not what I wanted to hear from a list of 30,000!

So I swallowed the defeat and started from scratch.

So I went to work:

• I built out the SMS core flows

• I carefully crafted an SMS campaign calendar

• I got our toll-free number verified so we can actually send texts

• I built out the signup forms to offer an exclusive discount for joining SMS

It was ready.

So I got the go from the owner, and we set it live.

Day 1

*Crickets*

Day 2

We started seeing some people trickle in.

And from that moment I could tell it was going to be huge.

Day after day we started converting at a nice 26% place order rate.

And after about 300 people joined our list, the SMS welcome flow generated just about $5,000 in revenue.

Not to throw shots, but that is about the same revenue pulled in by the current email marketing team for campaigns for the month.

But sometimes you have to boast about your accomplishments.

So there you have it, $5,000 from 300 people in 2 weeks.
