Outreach Testing

In depth on my outreach method, and A/B testing for results

Outreach does NOT guarantee you land a client.

But the higher the volume, and the more quality effort you put into each outreach…

The better your chances.

So let’s go over the current outreach methods I’m testing:

Personalized High-Value Outreach

This is in my opinion the strongest form of outreach.

Two things to cover here:

  1. Personalized Message Creation

  2. Strong Personal Offer

The first part is vital to getting your reader's attention ( most likely the business founder or manager ).

For example:

This is an early version of my outreach that has improved significantly since then, but we can take a couple of lessons in personalized outreach from it.

The first part to grab Courtney’s attention:

( Calling out her position, and telling her that I’ve been following her journey )

This subconsciously gets her thinking this could be from a recruiter or someone important in her line of work, which draws her into the copy.

Next:

We called out to Courtney that we wanted her attention, and if she got to this point in the copy we did just that. ( Further solidifies our positioning )

The goal of this outreach message was to grab her attention, keep it short and concise, and lastly create a spark of curiosity for her to check out my work.

That’s why I didn’t say:

“My name is Justin and I am a copywriter, give me work”

That would never get a response and is highly likely to put a bad taste in their mouth.

When using personalized high-value outreach, we can also demonstrate our copywriting skills to get our prospects to take action ( reviewing our work ).

The Second Part is crucial to landing the client:

Now that we have grasped their attention, and they open our work…..

Imagine them seeing boring copy and multiple grammar errors.

They’d instantly click off and forget about you.

But what if they checked out your work without even reading our message?

This is why our work needs to be strong.

For me, I have an 8-minute Loom Video you can watch here, which goes over the surface level of my offer.

And after they watch that, they can read an email I wrote for their business so they can pair up my promise from the loom video with my writing ability to make a smart decision.

Concise and Direct Outreach

This method is still new to me and I’m taking time to tweak it as I go.

The whole point is to be short and direct, as the main goal is to generate a response not book a call immediately.

The major reason this can work:

If the business owner is in need of a copywriter and I come in at that moment, perfect timing will be my friend and potentially land me a deal.

It’s short, direct, and works best if the prospect is seeking out help already.

( It’s like we’re answering their prayers )

Today is day 3 of the year, and we’ve sent around 10 outreaches.

Tomorrow we’ll dive into an outreach that got a response, and the outcome….
