Day 26: SMS Campaignssssss
They are boring but somehow make a lot of money
Campaign Ceasonnnnnn.
Yeah, it’s still going, and this time we got SMS.
This can be one of the top money-makers for your brand on the campaign side of things, but also costly….

It doesn’t seem bad when 2500 credits only cost $25 a month.
But when you realize a list of 1,000 SMS subscribers costs about $15 per campaign you send, things add up quickly.
Which is why it’s great that we only need to send 1-2x max per week.
And don’t forget the flows, yeah SMS ain’t cheap.
Where do I even start?
Let’s first create a campaign calendar for SMS.
SMS subscribers have a high unsubscribe rate, so we keep our campaign frequency to a minimum.
In a month we will send max 8 SMS messages which means: ONLY SEND FOR SALES
Only send out messages about current sales, promos, or events that may be taking place with your brand.
What do I send them?
The great thing about SMS campaigns is they are so short, it’s really hard to mess up.
Yes, you can be creative and play with the words.
But like Gene Schwartz said himself in “Breakthrough Advertising”
“Don’t be clever, be clear”
Why?
Because in selling products, we want to invoke a sale not a thought puzzle.
If our prospects got caught in the words, and didn’t have the urge to buy, we just failed our mission.
Here’s an example of an SMS campaign:

Short, sweet, and to the point.
Any more and we get charged for it! ( Literally )
Is it that easy?
Yes!
Just stick to these rules and you’ll have the backbone of your SMS marketing:
Keep it concise and clear
Send 1-2x per week max
Promote Sales/Events
Include Reasons to buy if you can ( discounts, urgency, etc. )
Now go out there and set up your SMS marketing channel!
