What am I working on right now?

Good question, because I don’t even know myself haha.

After learning a high-value skill for some time, you get to a point where it feels like you know enough that you should be making some money but you aren’t.

And it feels like everything you do to get a retainer/client is impossible.

But I came to the conclusion that I am just not working hard enough.

You see,

when it comes to landing your first gig or getting to that first big retainer it’s a lot harder than if you are already making decent money.

Think of it this way:

Would you hire a dentist that is on training day 1, or a dentist that has been working at the same place for 10 years and the whole community knows him?

It’s common sense.

And that’s the hardest part of starting out to make money in any field you go in.

It feels like most high-paying jobs require a bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience, which isn’t possible if you were at college the whole time!!

And I use that metaphor to explain how it works when trying to land clients for $1,000+ monthly retainers with copywriting because it’s very similar.

But the difference here is you can fake it till you make it, or you can work for free until you show results.

The bottleneck:

Finding and getting dream clients to want to work with me.

But this can be solved a couple of different ways….

Cold Outreach, Warm Outreach, or Working a Job in person.

My tactic is a mix of cold and warm outreach right now, but my volume is super low.

Which explains the results.

So I spent $75 to purchase software that gives me access to thousands of leads and marked them down on a list to reach out to over the next 90 days.

My goal will be to provide personalized and high-value outreach to every potential lead on the list but to do so at a high volume.

The challenge is I have no real experience working with E-commerce brands and don’t have any results to back myself.

I’ll be overcoming the hardest challenge in my journey.

But I have been spending the last couple of months practicing and learning everything I can about copywriting to justify my payment.

All I need is a chance, and the opportunity to fix my mistakes along the way.

How I will do that?

And that’s only up to one person, and that’s me.

After spending a couple of hours today building a list of prospects to reach out to, I created a Loom video for my outreach that I think will help land me clients.
