Day 13: What moves the needle?

Are you working on the wrong things in your business?

It’s normal.

You get overwhelmed with the possibilities to grow your business and then:

*Poof*

There goes your brain.

There goes your focus.

When I first started I spent a lot of time focusing on the wrong metrics.

What metrics?

Well let’s take for example situation numero uno:

I thought I knew what I was doing…..

And as you could imagine that wasn’t the case.

I focused on building out the email flows instead of campaigns.

Why was this an issue?

The revenue split at the time was 30% Campaigns and 70% Flows.

Can you spot the problem?

I was trying to hammer a screw instead of a nail!

When growing revenue for your e-commerce store we need to start with a thorough audit of current metrics.

But you don’t always get the full story.

So like I said, when I first started this project I thought the flows could be improved loads!!

I even got to the point where I told the current email guy that I would A/B test every one of his flows to prove my system!

That’s one way to blow your reputation!

But seriously.

If you are working on someone’s Klayvio account or you are an e-commerce store owner remember this:

Take every metric with a grain of salt, and simple is ALWAYS better.

So then what’s the answer to my question in the subject line?

Here are 3 simple steps to avoid mental clutter when trying to “move the needle” in your business: ( this also helps if you are an entrepreneur in any field )

  • Get a 2nd perspective when you “audit” or evaluate your current situation

  • Write down the most important factor to work on after bullet 1

  • Build a 3-step process to conquer that important factor in bullet 2 before you do anything else

I know that sounds too simple to work….

or

“I could have thought of that!”

But the fact of the matter is, it works.

It works too well.

And if you think it sounds stupid or too bland.

Sometimes the answer has been right in front of your face the whole time, and I just told you it was there.

So my only ask is to do something with what I just gave you!

It helped me, and probably will make a huge change for you….

Now’s the part where I ask you to do something:

Reply to this email with your similar experience or if you don’t take action do it now!

And respond back when you’ve finished!

Reply

or to participate.
